Foods That Help You Stay Fit

We need food in order to survive. That’s a given. Along with water, food is a necessity of life that we can’t do without. That’s why we grow food in order to survive. Our ancestors did it thousands of years ago and we continue doing right into the future.

While food is generally good for us, too much can be bad as well. As of today, obesity is probably the biggest problem that we face as a society. That’s because people are eating too much food and doing too little in the way of physical activity.

Take protein for example. Protein helps our body develop. We need protein in order to grow. The thing is people in developed countries tend to eat a lot of protein. Americans that live in the United States tend to eat more protein than the rest of the world.

That’s all fine and good but most of that protein happens to include a lot of fat. That’s not good because for the most part the fat gets stored in the body and that’s why you have what’s called ‘love handles.’

Eat Less And Lose Weight

Let me make one thing perfectly clear – it doesn’t matter how much you exercise; if you still eat a lot of food you can kill yourself exercising but you won’t get any thinner. That’s because the calories that you burn exercising just get replaced by the calories that you eat and then some. You shouldn’t even be surprised that you gained weight instead of losing it.

Portions are just as important as the type of foods you eat. Even if you eat all healthy foods it can still make you fat if you eat a ton of it every day. What you have in terms of quality you make up for in quantity. Thus, even a 100 calorie meal can still add up if you eat 5 helpings of it.

Order Yourself A Healthier Pizza

Pizza – it’s the kind of Italian food that really sticks to the gut and makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. OK, maybe not that way but there’s no denying that pizza is one of the more popular foods in the world today.

There’s always a form of that somewhere. In the United States it is a best seller. It’s so good that on average 23 pounds of the stuff. To put it bluntly – that’s a lot of pizza. To put it another way – that’s a lot of pounds that people add to their body.

There’s no denying that pizza is delicious. Unfortunately, there’s also no denying that pizza is also unhealthy. Eat 23 pounds of it a year and it’s no wonder that obesity has become a very, very big issue. No matter how much you exercise, if you eat as much pizza as the average it will do you naught.
