The Best Workout Regimen for You

People are getting crazy buying magazines, looking for DVDs, or even searching the net for the best workout regimen there is. When they see models with perfect bodies, we immediately come to a conclusion that the workout regimen they provide is perfect, basing on how toned and perfect their bodies are.

The danger then comes: we enrol to various workout regimens with impossible goals. Because of the catchy and very “encouraging” advertisements as “the 10 minute abs”, or “lose weight in one week”, we tend to think that there are workout regimens like magic; that they can transform us just like that! (yes, a snapping of fingers once follows).

We just need to remember that there is no such thing as magic when it comes to having a well-toned body. Unless you can produce a fairy god-mother who can transform pumpkins into carriages, or in this case, flab into muscles, you can start trying to forget about ten-minute promises.

So, what is really the best workout regimen? This really depends on your goals. What is your main goal? This should be the first thing that you ask yourself before you can start the best workout regimen for you.

We will narrow down three (3) objectives: building muscles, losing weight, or improving endurance or stamina.

You will realize that when you go to a gym and enrol for a workout regimen, the first thing that professionals will ask you is whether you would like to lose or gain. If you want to gain more muscles, your diet should be filled with calories, and with that, your minutes on the treadmill must be lessened. You can cut off your jogging, walking, or biking hours because it will be a little impossible to build muscle and lose a lot of calories from the body at the same time.

When you aim to lose weight, cut off calorie intake. You cannot expect to earn 10 lbs of muscle and lose 10 lbs of fat at the same time.

If you want to build a stronger stamina or better endurance, you run! However, you also cannot expect to build muscles when you plan to make running as one of your main routines. The calories will fuel your energy to run instead of fuelling your muscles.

Aiming to achieve all three simultaneously is a little impossible- physiologically. You can pick on an objective and start with that.

If you already picked a particular goal, seek a professional’s help to get you started. It is always better if you see a professional for consultations. There will be a lot of things to consider, and you can talk with the professional about them.

Also, do not start with impossible goals. Moreover, do not get easily frustrated. Again, routines are not magic. They cannot transform you from an average Joe to an Adonis overnight.

Learn to love the routines given to you, so you can execute them correctly and according to schedule. And remember to get workout clothes that fit you.
