Detoxifying with Juice!

The title may have confused you a bit, but it is what it is. Find out how.

“Stay healthy!” Yes, we have heard of this maxim a lot of times. And when we talk about staying healthy, the word “detox” usually comes to the picture. In fact, a lot of people are crazy about detoxifying.

By definition, detoxification is a metabolic process that rids the body of toxins- or lessens them            .
And when we talk about detox, it is also impossible that the word “juicing” is not mentioned. A lot of people are spending time, effort, and money to procure a juicer, buy some veggies good for juicing, and make a healthful, “detoxifying” beverage out of them.

So, why juicing? What are its advantages?

ü  Juice quickly energizes your body. It is easily absorbed in the body-  as quickly as 20 minutes.
ü  It is one of the easiest and best ways to consume a lot of green veggies as required for the body.
ü  Juicing is easier and faster than cooking.
ü  Juicing makes your body absorb nutrients well because it breaks down cell walls of whole foods.
ü  Juicing is easy, and you can blend a new fruit or vegetable alternately to improve its taste.

A little note, though: sometimes, juicing may not be that pleasing to the taste buds, but it can do wonders to your body.

For starters, you may ask what are the vegetables and fruits best for juicing. Ask no more. Here are a few good foods for juicing:

Cabbage
You did not expect that, right? But yes, cabbage is one of the most popular juicing ingredient because it has high water content. Not only that, it is also rich in folate and vitamin C.

Cranberries
Because these are filled with the compound called proanthocyanidins. This compound helps prevent UTIs because it gets bacteria out of the urinary tract.

Celery
Like cabbage, celery also has high water content, and at the same time, it is also high in potassium.

Wheatgrass
This is a wonderful, grass-tasting drink that is high in vitamins C, E, and K. It is also good for people with acidic stomachs. This can help you refrain from belching excessively after meals.

Cucumbers
Cucumbers make the drink taste better. It has a refreshing, cool taste that can make juices tolerable.

Carrots
It is also a good juice base like cucumbers. It is high in beta-carotene, which our bodies convert to vitamin
A.

Pineapples
Thanks to the presence of bromelain, pineapples help with protein digestion in the body.

Kale
This is still in the list. Aside from the fact that it is full of iron and folate, it is full of other health benefits. If kale is not present or if you find kale a little too much, you can replace it with spinach.

Onions
A lot of people include onions because they heal inflammations and infections. It’s like putting antibiotics in your juice. It may take a while though for you to be used with its taste, especially if you’re the kind of person who picks and drops onions to the trash from their salads or burgers.

Start juicing these now, and start living a healthy life! Again, little warning: it may not taste as good as you expect it, but it is so healthy you’d feel healthier after every sip!
