Don’t Make These Skin Care Mistakes

Our skin covers our whole body. It protects us from the elements. It also helps to regulate our body so that it doesn’t overheat or get too cold. All in all, this covering is pretty wonderful stuff and should be taken care of since it’s the only skin we’ve got.

Unfortunately, we often tend to neglect our skin. With the daily grind and the rat race that we call our reality taking care of our skin can be time consuming especially if you’re tired. However, it is important that you take care of your skin and not do these mistakes that can really put your skin in a bad situation.

Make-up – Have you ever worn make-up all day and then gone to bed without removing them. Yes, it is understandable that you may have done this. After all, it has been a long day and you’re already tired. Besides, what can happen right?

Well, make-up can trap dirt and oils against the skin. As a result, your skin’s pores will be clogged up. Bad things can happen when skin pores are blocked. You can get infections and inflammations to name a few. Also, long term exposure to make-up can cause adverse allergic reactions.

Sunblock – The sun is a wonderful thing. It gives us light and warmth. It also powers the things that make our earth move whether it is the air or the water. It is a bringer of life so we don’t grow hungry.

The thing is, the sun’s rays can be harmful with prolonged exposure. It can dry up the skin. It will create wrinkles. Worst yet, it can give you skin cancer. Unless you want to die at an early age don’t forget to wear sunblock or sunscreen.

Moisturizing – Yes, our skin needs to be moisturized. It can dry out, especially if it is exposed to the sun for long periods of time. Dry skin can crack, wrinkle and generally make us look old.

Drinking enough water won’t be enough. You need to also moisturize it from the outside with lotions and things like that. If the romans knew enough that skin needed to be moisturized then we should follow suit as well.

Over cleaning – What’s the opposite of going to bed with make-up on? That would be going overboard with the cleaning. Many do make the mistake of going overboard with using skin cleansers and exfoilants.

They scrub and scrub their skin like one would scrub a greasy pot. You have to remember, those skin cleaners are chemicals. They are harsh. Yes, they do remove the dead skin and any dirt and oils that may be on the skin.

However, they can also remove skin that is growing to replace those dead ones. Also, they can remove the natural oils that the skin needs in order to keep themselves vibrant and fresh. It’s no surprise to see skin that becomes oversensitive due to over cleaning.
