Fitness is not just a state of being.
Fitness is also a state of mind. Fitness is all about being healthy and staying
healthy.
Why is it that some people can stay healthy
and fit while others fail? What makes them different from those that couldn’t
stay the course?
It comes down to habits. Healthy and fit
people have different habits than the rest. They follow these fitness and
healthy habits every day without fail. As a result, they stay healthier and
fitter far longer than those who don’t have these same habits. If you want to
be healthy and fit like them you need to form your own health and fitness
habits.
A big habit that fit and healthy people
have is that they don’t care about how others look or how others perceive them.
This means that they are not busy comparing their bodies against someone else.
For them, they are comfortable with their bodies even if this may not be the
ideal that you see on television or in magazines.
They understand that pining for someone
else’s body isn’t going to make them happy and may not even be possible. Thus,
they focus on what they can do and what their bodies can give them in order to
become fit and healthy.
Speaking of happiness, fit people make it ahabit to do exercises that they enjoy. It makes sense. If you enjoy doing
something then chances are you will keep doing it. It’s like when we were kids
– the more we hate it the more we won’t do it. The same is true here.
That’s why if you are going to exercise,
find the exercise that you truly enjoy doing. For example, if you like walking
then make walking a part of your exercise routine. What’s important is you keep
doing it so if you like walking then chances are you will keep doing this kind
of exercise.
Fit people also know what to eat and what
not to. Even so, they don’t really go on diets nor do they do a lot of calorie
counting. For them, the food that they eat will tell them what is good for them
or not.
At the same time, they eat what they want
without controlling themselves too much. Doing this allows their bodies to
actually control the intake before over indulging itself. They also eat small
portions but eat more often. You may think they are eating in between meals but
in reality they are simply breaking down their meals from three big ones to six
or more smaller ones.
While they do make it a habit to exercise,
fit people also make it a habit to give their bodies a rest when needed. While
exercising is good for you, doing it every day without rest can be bad as well.
It may strain your body and can even negate the benefits that exercise will
give.
Fit and healthy people know that you need
to give your body rest so that it can fix itself. This will allow the body to
relax and for the muscles to rebound. If you do this your body can then tackle
the next round of exercises with no trouble at all.
